Wedding Wednesday: The Ford Wedding
The Ford Wedding | October 14, 2017 | Photography by: Morning Wild Photography
Felicia McDaniel and Jonathan Ford met at a party, and they kept in touch until Felicia's birthday bash an entire year later, where Jon drove two hours to see her, and their romance began. After dating for four years, the couple planned a vacation to Cozumel, Mexico. The night before their flight, they drove to Felicia's parents' house for dinner before their big trip. There, Jon pulled out a ring and proposed to Felicia. She was in such shock that she didn't officially say yes until 10 minutes later! "My mother, father and sister got to be there to witness the proposal, and it was a very special moment," Felicia says.
The couple decided to partake in a First Look session before their ceremony, and Felicia says that she's glad that she convinced her more traditional husband to relieve some of the tension before their big moment in front of over 100 guests. When they first saw each other, they broke out into tears and laughter, and the only thing that Jon said was, "You look beautiful." No other words were needed. Since their wedding was outdoors, the couple wanted to play up the natural, earthy elements of their venue. Using vintage-inspired tones and subtle autumn elements, the couple's wedding gave the exact feel that they were going for. An important element to their ceremony were little "geeky" details that made the day unique, such as Jon's Darth Vader socks and Felicia's Star Wars-themed footwear. The processional and recessional music were also Star Wars-themed, and these small, simple touches made the couple's day a little more special. Thanks to songs by the couple's favorite band Coheed and a cake made by the mother of the groom, Jon and Felicia's unique day came together perfectly.
