Wedding Wednesday: The Thomas Wedding

Morgan Brown and John Thomas’ relationship was anything but love at first sight. The two met in high school, and couldn’t stand each other at first. The next year they became best friends and would often skip class to get lunch together. After three years of friendship, the pair started dating. It was on a day trip to Alexandria, Virginia, when John popped the question. After dinner at the Chart House they went out by the harbor and he asked her to spend the rest of their lives together.
Morgan describes her wedding as simple, but elegant. They wanted it to be timeless, choosing the colors dusty rose, blush and gold. The tables had gold boxes with blush hydrangeas in the center, with ivory table clothes and chair covers. The whole wedding was simple and laid back so the couple could enjoy the day without stress. The ceremony was short and sweet, and Morgan remembers her favorite part of the day being the look on the groom’s face as she walked down the aisle. She loves looking back on the video and seeing their daughter, the flower girl, run to him, a detail she didn’t get to see the day of, but the video makes her heart melt every time she watches it. She also remembers the cake being amazing. It was a three-tiered cake, and they each chose a flavor of a tier, and decided on the final one together, ending up with lemon raspberry, chocolate caramel and lemon with lemon curd.
