Wedding Wednesday: The Francisey Wedding

Jessica Borman and Mark Francisey met online in October of 2016. They texted and FaceTimed for hours each day for about two weeks before actually meeting in person, where their first date was an 11 mile hike at Devils marble Yard. Jessica recalls that it wasn’t really a surprise when Mark proposed during a quiet night at home. They’d already made up their minds the week before that they would get married, so the next week when he came home from work, he’d already bought the wedding band. Opting not to go for a diamond engagement ring, he proposed with the band. He was so excited about the ring that when he got down on one knee, he just said how much he loved Jessica and wanted to spend forever with her then stood back up. Laughing, Jessica reminded him he actually needed to ask her.
Their wedding happened the weekend of Hurricane Florence, and the couple waited with bated breath to see if the rain would hold off. Miraculously, it did, and the clouds made the pictures perfect. Both Jessica and Mark are avid hikers, so the setting of the venue in the mountains was the perfect way to embrace their passion and have their family there too.
Jessica planned the wedding in just one month, and remember how amazed her daughter was at the way it all came together. There were only eight people at the wedding, including Jessica and Mark, making a very small and intimate setting. They went to a restaurant for the reception dinner, which Jessica remembers being to die for. The day was all about two families becoming one, which is just how Mark and Jessica wanted it.
