Wedding Wednesday: The Hamden Wedding

The Hamden Wedding | August 12, 2017 | Photography by: Ryan & Ahren Photography

When Lindsey Cusimano was in high school, she was on the volleyball team. After one of her games, then-football player Cameron Hamden, in the stands with his team, went to go buy food, and he asked her if she wanted anything. The rest was history.  On a beautiful October day, Lindsey, expecting a double date picnic with Lindsey's best friend and her boyfriend, accompanied Cam to a spot on private property. He brought her to a barn strung with lights and presented her with an early birthday gift: a little journal. When Lindsey opened it, she found that it was Cam's journal that he had been keeping for the past two years, starting on the day that he knew he loved Lindsey and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. As Lindsey read the last words in the journal, Cam led her to the middle of the barn and got down on one knee and proposed.

The couple's favorite memory of their special day was seeing each other at the ceremony: Cam, standing at the end of the aisle, waiting to spend the rest of his life with his bride, and Lindsey, walking down that aisle to the man that she loves most. Even though many of the couple's friends and family were there to help them celebrate, "I felt like it was just me and Cam," Lindsey says. With a venue that allowed the couple to explore their elegant yet rustic theme as well as providing the perfect location to accommodate out-of-town guests, the couple's wedding was brought to life. The night of fun and lively dancing was the perfect end to a celebration that not only honored the love of Cam and Lindsey, but also their appreciation for Blacksburg, the town where they met and cultivated that love.

Wedding Wednesday: The Bacigalupo Wedding

The Bacigalupo Wedding | August 13, 2016 | Photography by: Chelsea Anderson Photography

Anthony and Laura first met while attending Virginia Tech; they were both Hokie Ambassadors, their paths crossing at the annual fall social. Anthony wasted no time in asking her out and the two were soon spending every free moment together. Anthony left for basic training in June after he graduated, bringing the two of them even closer with daily handwritten letters and the realization they'd each found "The One." On an early morning hike to McAfee Knob, they made it to the top for a beautiful sunrise. On their way down, they found a beautiful wildflower clearing, where Anthony stopped to get down on one knee for their magical proposal moment.

Laura and Anthony agree their favorite wedding day moment was their last dance of the night. Family members and bridal party friends were helping clear out the reception space while the newlyweds took a moment for a dance; it was then the world melted away, with the day rushing back to them as they realized they were finally married. They were so caught up in the moment, they didn't notice their families and friends had gathered around them for a group hug, creating a perfect ending to an already perfect day. Laura notes her beautiful invitations and programs were one-of-a-kind, created by her friend as Mad Libs reply cards. They also had a tree planting ceremony using dirt from their hometowns to symbolize their backgrounds together for a new life, which created a wonderful keepsake to have for years. Laura also says if she could wear her wedding dress everyday, she would! The newlyweds also loved their Hokie tradition in the form of donuts for dessert (including a VT-inspired donut), as well as their fun paper airplane photos. Laura adds that their wedding day was unique thanks to special contributions from friends and family, with so many using unique talents to add personal touches to their day. "It was really a village of people who came together to make this day so beautiful!"
