Wedding Wednesday: The Gregory Wedding

The Gregory Wedding | November 11, 2017 | Photography by: Chelsea Anderson Photography

Lacy Grindstaff and Garrett Gregory met in college, through the Baptist Collegiate Ministries at Virginia Tech. They became great friends quickly, and a romance soon followed. While taking Lacy on a tour of some of their most meaningful places in their relationship, Garrett was planning on asking Lacy to be his wife, and the tour ended on the Tech drillfield with a sweet letter and Garrett's proposal. "It was such a fun night because we got to relive the best parts of our relationship!" Lacy says.

Lacy and Garrett's special day was made picture-perfect thanks to an elegant color scheme of gold, champagne and blush, as well as a location that allowed the couple to get their favorite photo: their sparkler exit! The couple says that their wedding was unique because of all of the love that they experienced from the people that all gathered to support them. "To us, it felt uniquely joyful," Lacy says, "I would argue that we were uniquely blessed to be surrounded by so many people who were so genuinely joyful with us in celebrating out marriage." After the ceremony, which the couple viewed as the culmination of their excitement, the guests were handed out custom koozies and coffee favors, adding a fun and personalized spin to Lacy and Garrett's joyful day. "The joy that we felt is a feeling neither of us will ever forget!" Lacy says.

Wedding Wednesday: The Biggs Wedding

Matt & Jessica Biggs | August 8, 2014 | Photography by Chelsea Anderson Photography

Even though Jessica was a sophomore and Matt was a senior, that didn't stop their friends from setting them up in high school. One winter day in February, the couple went outside to take pictures in the twenty-two inch snowfall when Matt got down on one knee with the snow up to his waist and asked Jessica to be his wife. The couple chose to have a small, intimate beach themed wedding. Jessica believes that the day was more special because only very close friends and family attended. It was also special and unique because it included personal, sentimental elements. Jessica had a piece of her father's shirt sewn inside her gown and a photo of her grandfather attached to her bouquet so they would both be with her to walk down the aisle. The groomsmen also wore bracelets to support her dad's battle with pancreatic cancer. Jessica's most memorable moment of the day was her first look with Matt when he asked her to marry him all over again and gave her a special wedding Pandora bead. Navy and pink made up the color scheme seen in the pink pinwheels that lined the aisle, pink accent table runners made by Jessica's sister-in-law, and the navy bridesmaids dresses. The couple incorporated a sand ceremony much like a unity candle ceremony that featured navy and white sand to keep with the theme. The centerpieces, which consisted of fish bowls filled with sand and seashells, also tied in with their location and theme. For favors the couple gave out koozies with their names and the phrase "two less fish in the sea." To continue with the theme of the day, the couple had a unique sandcastle cake, and guests played with beach balls during the reception. The beach fun didn't stop there as the couple took a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas!
