Matt & Kallie Blake | October 12, 2013 | Photography by A.B.E. Photography
Matt and Kallie attended high school together, but it wasn't until 2011 that Kallie finally took Matt up on his date offer. One day, Matt took Kallie apple picking at his family's apple orchard. After separating to look for the best selection, Matt called Kallie over to his apple tree. She walked over to find his tree had no apples at all, but rather a bag hanging from a limb that read, "Will you...?" Matt then told Kallie that sometimes, just like picking apples, you had to go through the bad to get to the good and God must have handpicked her just for him. Kallie says her favorite wedding day memory was seeing everyone come together to celebrate, as well as dancing the night away with them! Kallie's twin sister was also her maid of honor, which was special to each of them. Due to the lovely proposal in the orchard, the wedding had a fall rustic theme. Guests were greeted with a grouping of corn stalks tied with burlap apple ribbon. For the ceremony, the archway was decorated with vines and orange blossoms, while the aisle had burlap bags with blooming mums and blue Mason jars with candles. Guest tables were numbered with leaf cut-outs perched in blue aluminum wire in a red apple. Centerpieces were a pot of fall ornamental peppers sprinkled with candy corn. Kallie also remembers having so much fun with guests on the dance floor that they paid the DJ a little extra to keep the party going! Kallie and Matt traveled to Gatlinburg for a few days for a fun getaway as the couple had just purchased a house.
