Wedding Wednesday: The Leet Wedding

The Leet Wedding | April 22, 2017 | Photography by: Tara Lilly Photography & Design

Molly Webster and Jordan Leet attended the same high school, but they didn't become friends until college, when they reunited during a winter break. A few years after they started dating, the couple took a trip to Charleston, South Carolina, a place that Molly's family had vacationed and had many special memories. In front of the Pineapple Fountain, Jordan proposed, with Molly's sister and brother-in-law present to capture the moment with photos and a video!

On their rainy wedding day, the couple didn't care that it wasn't 100% according to plan. According to Molly, the whole day was "perfect," from the personalized vows to the dancing to the exit. Molly wore her mother's veil, and a table at the reception showed photos of the couple's family members on their wedding days. The romantic reception was accented with lavender floral arrangements and wreaths, and when it was time for the newlyweds' first dance, they swayed to Dave Matthews, Molly's favorite band. It was very important to the couple for their families to play a large role in their special day, so in an nontraditional move, Jordan had two Best Men and 4 groomsmen, while Molly's sister was her Matron of Honor and her brother the Man of Honor. "We wanted the siblings and friends that have supported us most standing beside us," Molly says.

Wedding Wednesday: The Carlin Wedding

The Carlin Wedding | December 16, 2017 | Photography by: Edmiston Photography

When Emily Ditto and Tyler Carlin matched on Tinder, they had no idea that, a couple years after their initial conversations about their interests and puppies, they'd be engaged to be married. For their first date, Tyler picked up Emily for a pajama-clad adventure, and they drove to Virginia Beach. There, in the rain on the boardwalk, Tyler kissed her.  Fast forward two years, and in the rain at Dave Matthew's vineyard, Blenheim Vineyard, while they were wandering through the grapevines, Tyler got down on one knee and asked Emily to be his wife. Tearing up, Emily immediately said yes.

The "snowy winter wonderland" theme of the wedding added to the inviting nature of Emily and Tyler's special day, complete with custom-designed snowflake projections on the walls and a snowy sendoff at the end of the night. Even the cake went along with the wintry theme: it was reminiscent of a snowy mountain with red velvet to match the bridesmaids' dresses and two bride-and-groom pine cones on the top. Emily and Tyler's favorite part of the day was hearing the speeches given during the reception. "Hearing the love and support from both families was incredible," Emily says. "On a day that was so rushed, it was a moment that allowed time to stand still and allowed for us to really reflect on what it meant that these two families would be joined forever." Adding a fun, unique flair, the couple incorporated a top hat into the wedding accents, as well as forgoing the traditional guest book for Christmas ornaments that wedding guests could sign. It was important to the couple to create the atmosphere of a Christmas wedding without going overboard, and the result was "romantic and intimate and loved by guests."

Wedding Wednesday: The Baker Wedding

The Baker Wedding | June 17, 2017 | Photography by: Pat Cori Photography

Katie Hall's matron of honor had been telling Scott Baker about her for a while until he finally met her for himself at her matron of honor's bachelorette party, where he showed up with one of his friends. "I knew he was the one," Katie says, and the couple soon became inseparable. When Scott and Katie were visiting the idyllic Ocean Isle, NC for their annual vacation, the couple went out for dinner and then drove to the secluded Bird Island to watch the sunset. Walking on the beach with Scott, Katie turned to make her way back down a sand dune and found Scott down on one knee. "It was perfect!" Katie says.

For their special day, the couple really wanted to have a creative, one-of-a-kind ceremony. Katie, who says that she appreciates clean lines and artsy details, found that the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke was the perfect venue. To help create their dream wedding, Katie opted for a striped dress that made a bold statement, as well as a bouquet of king proteas that was as heavy as it was stunning, leaving Katie's arms sore the next day! Katie and Scott felt that the most important thing for their wedding was that the guests have fun, and so they incorporated elements such as a dance-friendly DJ, glowsticks for a fun and unique exit and  little bags of pretzels that each guest took home that read, "Thanks for helping us tie the knot!" The couple was excited to have a wedding that was different than other weddings that they'd been to. "We wanted to give our guests a fun experience that they'd never forget," Katie says. From the modern and creative venue to the dancing and glowsticks of the reception, Katie and Scott created the perfect event to start their lives together with their friends and family partaking in the festivities. "I feel so lucky to have such great people in our lives and that they took the time to come celebrate our big day!" Katie says.
