The Taylor Wedding | October 14, 2017 | Photography by: Jasmine White Photography
Despite growing up only 20 miles from each other and attending West Virginia University at the same time, Michelle Cofer and Nathan Taylor did not officially meet until one summer night while they were bowling. Because of their obvious chemistry, when they met again a year later, Nathan made sure that they exchanged numbers, and they have been together ever since. Since their relationship was built on trust and honesty, the open channels of communication would make it hard for a wedding proposal to be a surprise, or so Michelle thought. But when Michelle was helping Nathan unpack the groceries after Nathan ran out to grab items to make breakfast one morning, she was surprised to find a little silver box in the bottom of one of the bags. In the box was her dream ring, and Nathan got down on one knee and asked Michelle to be his wife.
Michelle cherishes the memory of seeing her husband's face as she walked down the aisle. She felt no nerves and no worries, just a calmness in knowing that she was walking toward her best friend and future. "It was breathtaking," Michelle says. The ceremony, dubbed the "Marilyn Monroe Wedding" due to its classic details, had a color scheme of black, white and grey with red roses as accents. These roses are very meaningful to the couple: since their relationship was long distance for over a year, every time Nathan visited Michelle, he would bring her a dozen roses. The elegant outdoor ceremony was unique due to the stunning arrangements, and the reception was magical, thanks to tables lined with candles and rose centerpieces. The perfect day was made even more special because many of the guests came from all over the country to help Michelle and Nathan celebrate the joyous occasion.
