Wedding Wednesday: The Nallen Wedding

The Nallen Wedding | September 24, 2016 | Photography by: Anna Bowser Photography

Jordan Clark and Michael Nallen met at a party in college where Michael's charm and wit had Jordan head over heels. The couple took a December trip to Colonial Williamsburg for Jordan's birthday where he proposed in front of a large mansion. Jordan says that her favorite part was when a man dressed in a colonial outfit took their picture.

The couple rented out their venue for the entire weekend so that they could use it for the rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch as well as the wedding. Some of the unique touches to the wedding include Jordan's handwritten calligraphy centerpieces, signs and other small details throughout the venue. They also used biodegradable products and reusable mason jars for the reception, and recycled all of their flowers by taking them to a local nursing home. The bridesmaids also wore dark green dresses to match the groomsmen's ties, a detail that Jordan adores. Michael and Jordan spent months choreographing a dance to surprise their guests, and Jordan says that watching all of their hard work pay off is the best memory of the day!

Wedding Wednesday: The Dawley Wedding

The Dawley Wedding | September 24, 2016 | Photography by: Kemper Mills Fant Photography

Lauren Ammar and Troy Dawley met at Carilion Clinic where they had an instant connection. Despite having a bit of a long distance relationship (Troy in Texas and Lauren in Virginia), the couple brought a new light into each others lives. Troy proposed on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Italy. Early one morning on a dock in Venice, Troy hired a photographer to capture the moment and asked the question just as a boat full of people floated by and cheered for the happy couple. They spent the rest of the trip celebrating.

Troy says that his favorite part of the wedding was during the ceremony when he was watching Lauren walk down the aisle because he "couldn't wait to be her husband.". The rich wine and gold mixed with floral patterns made the wedding a perfect transition from summer into fall. Mixed china and "his and hers" cocktails added charm during the reception. Guests were delighted by the choreographed father-daughter dance as well as the first husband-wife dance, adding a special uniqueness to the whole day.

Wedding Wednesday: The Seaver Wedding

The Seaver Wedding | June 16, 2016  | Photography by: Andru Miller Photography

Catherine Rossi and Jedidiah "Jed" Seaver met in the nick of time. Catherine was fed up with the dating scene in the city when she agreed to being set up with Jed by a mutual friend. As soon as the two met, Catherine knew that this man was different than any other she'd met before. From that first lunch on, the two never stopped talking. It eventually evolved naturally into the loving relationship they share today. It was love at first sight.

Jed proposed in November. While Catherine was out on a run, Jed had set up candles around a watch box, with Frank Sinatra playing in the back ground. Catherine, knowing he'd suggested going out to dinner later that night, had a inkling he might propose. But, when she came home to see the watch box she was confused by all of the effort put into a watch. Inside, though, she found a gold engagement ring. Jed was excited he was able to surprise her with the proposal and even more excited that she said yes.

Despite the two of them living in D.C., they both grew up around the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. Catherine, originally being from Blacksburg, wanted the wedding to be close to home. The ceremony took place at Claytor Lake State Park, by the water, with perfect 70 degree weather. For the reception, they traveled back to Blacksburg to love, sing, and dance the night away at The Inn at Virginia Tech.

The comforting atmosphere and being surrounded by friends and family really helped to make the day a success. Her father's band played at the reception, a part of her mother's wedding gown was used as Catherine's bouquet holder, and Catherine's 92 year old Babushka (Grandmother) even traveled from New Jersey for the wedding. Unfortunately she fell ill upon arriving in Virginia, and had to spend the wedding day in the hospital, but instead of it being a sad memory, Catherine and Jed made the best of it. The two were able to surprise her at the hospital, completely decked out in their formal wear. Catherine says she remembers this moment the best, with the most warmth in her heart.

The whole night was full of fun, love, and great memories. The couple were so glad to be able to return back to their roots for their wedding. The food was delectable, the reception was exciting and better than Catherine even thought possible, and the guests loved the thoughtful wedding favors. Jed works in law enforcement so the couple decided to donate to The National Fallen Police Foundation in their guests' names and hand out blue and black wrapped Hershey kisses.

It was a wedding that everyone will look back on with love and happiness.
