Wedding Wednesday: The Martin Wedding

Jason & Katie Martin | May 27, 2013 | Photography by Beach Productions

When Jason and Katie met at his family's business (Martin's Downtown), Jason immediately asked the performer about his friend Katie. When she returned on a different night, he struck up a conversation and they've been talking ever since! On a trip to Hawaii to visit her family, Jason took her out for a romantic dinner and walk on the beach and proposed. Katie's favorite part of the day was their "first look" where she and Jason had a special moment together before the wedding (Katie confesses to being a "notorious crier" and didn't want to bawl her eyes out during the ceremony!). Their unique wedding brought together all their loved ones for a Monday wedding at the beach, where they enjoyed the rest of their week in the Outer Banks. A hot pink and lime green color scheme made it even more fun, with bright pops of color everywhere. Katie also added that one of their favorite aspects of the wedding was their water entrance, where the wedding party boarded a pontoon boat and arrived to the reception in style!

Wedding Wednesday: The Craft Wedding (2014 Cover Couple!)

Jared & Chelsey Craft | May 11, 2013 | Photography by Tara Lilly Design & Photography

High school sweethearts Jared and Chelsey got engaged after he surprised her in 2012 with a special little ring box. Chelsey got around Jared's "all-camo wedding" wishes by throwing a true southern wedding. Hay bales, rustic decor, and other small details lent to the shabby chic theme. In addition to the decor, they had a local artist wood burn their initials with hearts, mason jars, and other unique designs on wood chips. Magnets were placed on the back so guests could take those home as favors to display their photos. For their unity ceremony, the couple collected soil from their childhood homes, as well as their new house, and planted a few flower seeds to help their love grow; it now stands in a mason jar in their new home. Believe or not, Chelsey's favorite memory from her wedding day was when it rained! Chelsey says she couldn't help but laugh as her bridesmaids raced back to the covered porch to wait for the rain to pass; luckily it did after just a few minutes, with nothing but sunshine for the rest of her perfect day. Chelsey and Jared celebrated their marriage by honeymooning in Negril, Jamaica at Sunset at the Palms, a "tree house" resort.
