Wedding Wednesday: The Tyson-Williams Wedding

The Tyson-Williams Wedding | October 22, 2016 | Photography by: Sue Campbell & Leanne Creger

Matthew Tyson and Erik Williams had an "extraordinary amount of luck on their side" when they found each other online. One night when Matthew was staying up late studying for a nursing school final, Erik surprised him by coming around the corner wearing a suit and holding a package. After managing to make both of them laugh and cry, Erik proposed with a Cartier engagement ring, exactly what Matthew always wanted.

Matthew says that his favorite part of the wedding was the recitation of the vows because they were taken from a passage in "Jane Eyre," his favorite book. Erik's favorite was the "warming of the rings" where the couple passed their rings around and asked guests to pray or bless them. Some other special aspects of the wedding include the books and paper items doubling as decor and gifts, and the "Harry Potter" themed cake topper and guest book. The Corinthian Ballroom added the charm of a library to the occasion, making the atmosphere even more magical. The couple says that the inclusion of their favorite activity, reading, into the reception and ceremony made the wedding unique.

Wedding Wednesday: The Nallen Wedding

The Nallen Wedding | September 24, 2016 | Photography by: Anna Bowser Photography

Jordan Clark and Michael Nallen met at a party in college where Michael's charm and wit had Jordan head over heels. The couple took a December trip to Colonial Williamsburg for Jordan's birthday where he proposed in front of a large mansion. Jordan says that her favorite part was when a man dressed in a colonial outfit took their picture.

The couple rented out their venue for the entire weekend so that they could use it for the rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch as well as the wedding. Some of the unique touches to the wedding include Jordan's handwritten calligraphy centerpieces, signs and other small details throughout the venue. They also used biodegradable products and reusable mason jars for the reception, and recycled all of their flowers by taking them to a local nursing home. The bridesmaids also wore dark green dresses to match the groomsmen's ties, a detail that Jordan adores. Michael and Jordan spent months choreographing a dance to surprise their guests, and Jordan says that watching all of their hard work pay off is the best memory of the day!

Wedding Wednesday: The McKee Wedding

The McKee Wedding | September 23, 2016 | Photography by: Pictures by Julie

Jon and Patrick first met online, with Patrick asking Jon out for six months before Jon agreed to meet in person. Their date turned into more than friendship, as their time together increased from a weeknight or two to weekends and long days together. Once they found themselves missing the other when they weren't around, they knew their love was growing. For the proposal, Jon and Patrick went for a photo shoot; they were each given a chalkboard to write down what they love about each other. While Patrick wrote that Jon was loving, predictable and kind, Jon wrote "Will you marry me?"

Jon's favorite wedding day memory is their wedding vows because they were able to share their love for each other while surrounded by their closest friends and family. Patrick agrees with the sentiment, but also loved their wedding decorations in their beautiful venue space. Guests received red suckers as wedding favors, added to the wine glasses after Jon's brother shared a childhood story. Their first dance was to Charles Kelly's "The Only One Who Gets Me" which they feel sums up their relationship. Their ceremony also included several Disney movie quotes, and the newlyweds honeymooned at Disney as well.
