The Jackson Wedding | October 25, 2015 | Photography by: Megan Vaughan Photography
When Chris first asked Emily out, she said no. He was a junior and she was a freshman at Liberty University, and she didn’t know him. A friend knew him though and encouraged her to reconsider, so when he asked her again a week later she agreed, and she’s glad she did!
Chris had planned an entire day for his proposal. They went downtown to the farmer’s market, and he managed to kill five hours with antiquing and coffee. After dinner, he took her for a walk along the river. There were pictures of the two of them, flowers, and candles scattered on the bridge. He asked specific questions about their future together with each picture they stopped at, and at the end there was a lock on the bridge asking her to marry him.
Emily’s favorite moment from their wedding was their “First Look, No Peek” before the ceremony. They were able to pray, exchange gifts, and just talk about their day. It was a relaxing moment amongst the chaos, and it was nice to be able to have that time before she walked down the aisle.
The “Classy” theme of the wedding was enhanced with twinkling lights and glitter, and their colors were navy blue, gray, and gold. The flowers though were red, yellow, and orange daisies to add pops of color around the room. For party favors, they had a hot chocolate bar (and it was a huge hit with their guests!).
Instead of cocktail hour, they had “Game Hour” where guests played corn hole. The table numbers were even made out of scrabble tiles and books, and they had a coloring station. Their love of games helped to make the wedding feel more unique, and it complimented their gorgeous venue perfectly. The barn, paired with the Christmas lights, candles, and chandeliers looked like a fairytale. The day certainly felt magical for Emily and Chris!
