Wedding Wednesday: The Beamish Wedding

Lauren’s profile on Match.com included her fear of house centipedes. Richie sent her a message saying he would protect her from them. She laughed at the message and they set up a meeting, and she’s been laughing ever since.
Richie’s proposal didn’t quite manage to catch Lauren by surprise, but it was incredibly sweet nonetheless. They went out to dinner, and he was quiet and nervous the whole time, cluing Lauren in that something was up. Finally, just before dessert, he walked around the table and pulled out a ring. When the waiter realized what had happened, she sent over complimentary champagne and the staff wrote “Congratulations” on their plates.
Lauren’s favorite memory of the day was when she walked down the aisle. With her father next to her and Richie waiting at the other end, she couldn’t have been happier. She purposely walked slower to enjoy the moment.
Before the ceremony, Lauren and Richie had a “First Look,” though they never actually saw each other. They stood back to back and talked, and they even pulled off a kiss with their eyes closed. It eased some of their jitters, and then it was time for the ceremony. They chose to do a non-religious ceremony, customizing the service with their officiant to really make it theirs.
The colors for the day were burgundy, silver, and rose. For party favors, they got frames for people to frame their pictures from the photo booth. Lauren and Richie complied a scrapbook of the pictures from the booth, and they love the final product.
The big picture of the day came from Lane Stadium though. Both of them are die-hard Hokie fans, and they were able to get in and take pictures with the Hokie Stone. They were even lucky enough to have the Hokie Bird make an appearance at their wedding, which totally made their night.
