Wedding Wednesday: The Lee Wedding
Joel & Whitney Lee | October 19, 2013 | Photography by Modelesque Photography
Whitney and Joel met while they both served in the Navy and were stationed in Norfolk. Joel, like many grooms, carried the engagement ring in his pocket for a few days before he proposed, waiting for a sign or the perfect moment. Upon leaving a store, someone told Joel his wife was very beautiful. Minutes later, Joel proposed in the car; despite Whitney first thinking it was a joke, she said yes - and she wouldn't have her proposal any other way! Whitney's favorite part of her wedding day was the ceremony. When her father walked her down the aisle, she thought he might be more nervous than she was with shaking hands; however she believes his nerves helped keep her calm. The Lee wedding was considered unique thanks to its location - a stunning setting of mountains and sunset made the day (and photos!) look magical. The vintage chic wedding had colors of gray, pale yellow, and plum, with painted wine bottles wrapped in white lace burlap. Centerpieces were vases with yellow, white and pink roses sitting on a mirror or circular piece of wood. Whitney's mom created the guest favors, which were Mason jars filled with yellow confetti and homemade cookies. The happy couple had a bit of a rushed wedding due to Joel's orders in Guam, but Whitney's looking on the bright side about spending three years on a tropical island!
