Wedding Wednesday: The Minter Wedding

Ryan & Sarah Minter | May 24, 2014 | Photography by William Mahone Photography

Ryan crossed Sarah's path while he paid a visit to his former co-workers at a local pharmacy. The two chatted for a while, and after he left, Ryan decided to ask their mutual friend to set him up with Sarah. He asked her out on a date a week later, and the rest became a beautiful adventure - much like Ryan's proposal. He suggested a walk at Virginia Tech's Duck Pond one afternoon in May with their two dogs. This quickly became a whirlwind of events as one dog jumped into the pond after the ducks and the other dog followed in! Once they were settled, Ryan finally took a photo of Sarah and the dogs and popped the question. The fun continued throughout their wedding day, which kept with a theme of being playfully romantic. It was important to Ryan and Sarah that their wedding showcase their personalities, which they achieved by having a few fun improvised moves during their first dance and having their dogs stand in as the ring bearer and flower girl. The venue of the Corinthian Ballroom added the romantic element with the elegant ballroom decorated with candles and flower arrangements. In addition to these elements, they also made sure to personalize their big day. Sarah's dress was carefully crafted to become her dream gown with the hard work of her seamstress and the addition of Ryan's mother's veil. Sarah also had both her parents walk her down the aisle to celebrate her strong bond with them and the support they've always given her, and the couple's maternal grandmothers lit the family candles before the ceremony began.
