Wedding Wednesday: The Trevillian Wedding

Mike & Kayla Trevillian | May 17, 2014 | Photography by Noah Magnifico

After knowing each other since middle school and dating since senior year of high school, Kayla was very anxious for Mike to propose. The couple had shopped for rings and discussed prices, but Kayla thought the ring of her dreams was out of the question. On their fourth anniversary, they agreed no gifts would be exchanged, but Mike had other plans in mind. He surprised Kayla at her house with a Prince Charming teddy bear and, yes, the ring she picked out. Kayla wanted to her wedding to be as simple and laidback as possible, but still have loads of character. She was able to keep her wedding country chic-themed with the farm setting for the outdoor ceremony and barn setting for the reception as well as the cowboy boots donned by everyone in the wedding party. She continued to keep with the theme by buying nothing new as a decoration. Along with her mother and Mike, she hand selected glass bottles and flasks found in antique shops to use for centerpieces and old brooches to decorate her bouquet. Rustic hanging lanterns, wine barrels, antique candelabras, and even the old Chevrolet pick-up truck completed the décor. They also made sure to keep their wedding personal as well as unique. Kayla asked her uncle to become ordained in order to perform the ceremony, which she says was far from traditional and very memorable because of him. Her brother also gave a very special improvised speech at the wedding, mentioning how Kayla and Mike are the perfect balance for one another.
